An Innovative Study Space Helps PSU Students Succeed

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) recently created a video highlighting one of the Library’s newest and most dynamic space additions: The Sandbox. The video (below) features a series of interviews with students discussing their favorite aspects of the innovative technology space—the writeable wall surfaces, the touchscreen computers, and even the furniture that can be moved to create a more comfortable group study space.

The Sandbox is part of the Learning Ground, a renovated technology suite that features a computer lab, window seating, and the collaborative, technology-enhanced study space, the Sandbox. This addition to Millar Library was made possible by funding and collaboration between the University Library, the Office of Information Technology, and The Associated Students of Portland State University (ASPSU).

Do you want to contribute to the University Library’s next big project? Whether it be giving to the general Library Fund, which supports the acquisition of new materials and resources, or a specific fund like the Electronic Resources Fund, which supports the acquisition of e-books, subscriptions to online journals and databases, and projects such as PDXScholar, the digital repository that houses student and faculty work, there are many ways to give that fit your interest and giving level. Visit the giving page to read about all the opportunities to make a positive change at the University Library and in the lives of our students today.
